This PTO yoke features a 1-2\/9 in. square bore for easy connection.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shaft Length: Centerline (Center of yoke ear hole to the back of tube) 34-2\/3 in.<\/li>\n<li>Tube Outer Diameter: 2-1\/9 in.<\/li>\n<li>Tube Inner Diameter: 1-2\/9 in. square<\/li>\n<li>PTO drive shaft yoke operates at 108 HP\/81 kilowatts @ 1000RPM or 70 HP\/52 kilowatts @ 540 RPM for efficiency<\/li>\n<li>PTO yoke weight: 12.06 lb.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>What equipment will the driveline be used for?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you know which piece of equipment the power train will be used for and want to replace the whole power train, recognition is a fast two-step process:<br \/>\nJust select the equipment category, and then select the pipe shape (see the figure below) and length of the driveline to be replaced.<br \/>\nIf you need to replace driveline components, refer to the following identification process.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What are the various driveline components?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-267378 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/hzpt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/ep_ep_pto-shaft11.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"293\" height=\"391\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. The tractor yoke<\/strong>&#8211; PTO assembly starts with this type of yoke. It is connected to the tractor and used to connect the power train. There are two main types of tractor yokes. The first type is a spring lock, which uses a spring-loaded collar to connect and release the yoke. The second type is a quick to disconnect, which uses a pushpin mechanism to connect.<br \/>\nThe tractor yoke can also be designated as 6-spline, 20-spline, or 21-spline, representing how it matches to the connection on the tractor.\u00a0\u00a0This can be identified by counting the notches on the inside of the yoke collar.<br \/>\n<strong>2.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Cross and Bearing Kit-<\/strong>\u00a0This is a u-joint that connects the yokes in the PTO assembly.\u00a0\u00a0The cross and bearing kit will either have a snap ring located internally in the bushing or located externally, meaning it can be found in the ears of the yoke.<br \/>\n<b><strong>3. Shaft Yoke-<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0Using a cross and bearing kit, this connects the tractor yoke to the driveline shaft.<br \/>\n<b><strong>4. Shaft-<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The shaft is the metal rod at the core of the driveline providing its length and connecting the yoke attachments.<br \/>\n<b><strong>5. Tube-<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The shaft runs inside this metal cylinder adding reinforcement to the driveline<br \/>\n<b><strong>6. Tube Yoke-<\/strong><\/b> Attached to the end of the tube, this yoke connects the driveline to the implementation using a second cross and bearing kit.<br \/>\n<b><strong>7. Implement Yoke-<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0This connects the driveline to the machine or device being maneuvered by the tractor.<br \/>\n<b><strong>8. Guard-<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0A hard plastic covering is placed around the driveline to prevent damage during operation.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b><strong>Is the Driveline North American or Metric?<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The simplest way to figure out whether a PTO is North American or metric is to determine the\u00a0<b><strong>shape of the tubing\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>and shafting.\u00a0 A PTO is domestic if the tubing\/shafting is square, rectangle, hex, or splined.\u00a0 If the tubing\/shafting is a bell, lemon, or star-shaped, then it is metric.\u00a0 There are two types of metric drivelines: German-style (Walterscheid brand) and Italian style (Bondioli &amp; Pavesi).\u00a0 The German-style shafting\/tubing has lemon and star profiles while the Italian has a bell-shaped design.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What series is the power train?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The exact way to determine which series of PTO to use is to take two measurements of the spider and bearing kit on the tractor end of the driveline. Use a caliper to measure the outer diameter of the universal joint cover, which is the same as measuring the inner hole of the yoke ear.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>PTO Shaft Parts<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3
