PTO Shaft for Agricultural Gearbox<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Agricultural equipment includes various PTO shafts. Each one is connected by yokes at each end and rotates between 540 and 1,000 rpm. A safety universal PTO shield<\/a> is commonly installed on both ends of a PTO shaft to protect the operator. The agricultural gearbox<\/a> is designed to change the output speed of a PTO drive shaft. It can be used as a decreasing or increasing ratio gearbox. The selection of the PTO is essential to provide sufficient power to the auxiliary equipment without seriously limiting the main functions of the prime mover. PTO torque and horsepower requirements<\/strong>
\nThe speed and rotation requirements of the Aci PTO<\/a> are one of the most critical specifications in the above list, and the speed is necessary to calculate the torque. The torque and horsepower requirements of the driven components are critical for optimum performance.
\nIn most cases, the user manual of the drive assembly will provide this information, but if necessary, the calculation of these requirements is relatively simple using two basic formulas.<\/p>\n

HP = GPM x psi \u00f7 1714
\nHP = GPM (pump flow in gallons per minute) x psi (required pump pressure pounds per inch) \u00f7 1714 (conversion factor to produce HHP or hydraulic horsepower). This formula provides the horsepower requirements of the driven parts and is used to calculate the torque requirements.<\/p>\n

T = horsepower \u00d7 5252 \u00f7 speed
\nT (torque) = HP x 5252 (the speed at which torque and horsepower intersect) \u00f7 RPM (speed of drive shaft of driven part).<\/p>\n

Remember that these calculations apply only to the PTO that drives the hydraulic pump. If the power takeoff provides power for different types of drive components, the manufacturer is required to provide the specifications of the drive components.<\/p>\n
